AUDITION INFORMATION FOR DIVE IN PRODUCTIONS’ ROCKY HORROR SHOW

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Once you have signed up for a slot, or submitted a video, we will then send you an audition form for you to fill out.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION:

**Each named character in this production will be dual cast (EX - two actors will be cast as Brad/Rocky). Each actor will play one of their tracks or the other for each show (IE, you might play Brad for one performance, Rocky in the next) as decided either at random, by the audience, or by the director (method for selection TBD)**

BRAD/ROCKY

  • Brad Majors: An uptight, but well meaning twenty-something. Brad is engaged to his college sweetheart, Janet Weiss, but their experiences in the castle will test not just their relationship, but their very identities as well. Any Race/Ethnicity,  20s-30s,  Range: Bari-Tenor Bb2-G4

  • Rocky: Frank-N-Furter’s monster, born to be the wicked doctor’s perfect man, but he rebels against his creator. (Note: we’re not looking to cast a body-builder, just someone very comfortable with being on stage in various states of undress) Any Race/Ethnicity,  20s-30s,  Range: Tenor A3-G4

JANET/COLUMBIA

  • Janet Weiss: A naive, and inexperienced young woman, engaged to her college sweetheart, Brad Majors. She discovers a darker, wilder side of herself as the show progresses. Any Race/Ethnicity,  20s-30s,  Range: Mezzo-Soprano A3-Eb5

  • Columbia: Part of Frank’s entourage of eccentrics, with unresolved feelings for Eddie. Tap experience recommended.  Any Race/Ethnicity,  20s-30s,  Range: Mezzo-Soprano E4-E5

FRANK-N-FURTER/MAGENTA

  • Dr. Frank-N-Furter: The twisted yet irresistible non-conforming mad scientist (and alien) who brings Brad,  Janet, and the other residents of the castle down to the depths of depravity. Needs to be dripping with charisma. Any Race/Ethnicity, 30s-40s, Range: Baritone D3-G4

  • Magenta: Riff Raff’s creepy, dead-pan sister, and another of Frank’s henchmen, biding her time until she and her brother can return to their home planet. (Depending on casting, will be played in drag) Any Race/Ethnicity, 30s-40s,  Range: Mezzo-Soprano Bb3-Eb5

RIFF RAFF/EDDIE (** Please note that ONE of the Riff Raff/Eddie tracks has already been cast. There is still another Riff Raff/Eddie track open to another actor. **)

  • Riff Raff: Frank-N-Furter’s disgruntled, scheming manservant. He and his twisted sister, Magenta, are hatching a sinister plot in the castle. Any Race/Ethnicity, 30s-40s, Range: Rock Tenor D3-B4

  • Eddie:  A low down cheap little punk, who loves motorbikes and rock & roll, and meets an unfortunate fate after falling in with Frank-N-Furter. Columbia’s doomed love. Any Race/Ethnicity, 30s-40s, Range: Baritone F3-F#4

DR. SCOTT/THE CRIMINOLOGIST

  • Dr. Scott: Brad and Janet’s brilliant college science professor who introduced them to each other. He’s secretly investigating the disappearance of his estranged nephew, Eddie. Uses a wheelchair, will require a German accent. Any Race/Ethnicity, 30s-50s Range: Baritone F3-F#4

  • The Criminologist: This quick-witted, fourth wall breaking narrator directly addresses the audience, non-singing, but may require an accent.
