Dive In Productions is proud to offer our 3rd annual summer Writer's Workshop!
Playwrights of all experience levels are welcome in the Dive In-Cubator to share their work, receive feedback from fellow writers, and see their words brought to life as a part of a two day new works festival!
Playwrights will meet once a week on MONDAY evenings ONLINE to workshop their pieces, with the possibility to meet in person at least once in Newmarket, NH depending on individual schedules. Deadline for submissions is Monday, June 22. The first workshop night will be Monday, June 29.
Following the writing workshop, Dive In Productions will work alongside the writers to bring their works to the stage for a two day NEW WORKS FESTIVAL in AUGUST.
Meet your workshop leader, Ben Hunton!
Ben has a master’s degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College and 6+ years of teaching and directing experience. His teaching philosophy centers on the “Process over Product”, fostering creativity and self-discovery. In this workshop, participants will explore, experiment, and find their unique voices as playwrights. All culminating in getting to see their work and vision brought to life on stage for the first time. Join Ben in celebrating the joy of storytelling and learn how to craft compelling narratives that touch hearts and minds.
Please note: In order to provide the best experience for our writers space will be limited. Participants will be selected by the Dive In staff and workshop leader.

Instructor: Tara McDonough (ft. Jen Whitley)
Learn the basics of improvising with puppets from veteran puppet-improvisors Jen Whitley and Tara McDonough (Improvised Puppet Project, Yes&Co, YSSM). Using simple hand puppets, you'll learn eye contact, mouth movement, character development, and even simple puppet space-object work -- and by the end of class, we'll put it all together with some scenework!
