AUDITIONS FOR TWELFTH NIGHT ARE NOW OPEN!

 

Auditions for Twelfth Night will be held virtually only. Auditionees may be asked to attend in-person callbacks on March 1, 2026. Please submit your audition video as an Unlisted YouTube link via the AUDITION FORM.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Please prepare a memorized 1-2 minute comedic monologue of your choice.

  2. Please select and prepare one of the pre-selected excerpts from the show. Memorization is encouraged. 

  3. (Optional.) If you can play a musical instrument, sing, or have other talents that might have a place at a carnival boardwalk (juggling, unicycling, etc.), we want to see! Please provide an approximately 30-second video showing us whatever you’ve got.

AVAILABLE ROLES
All roles are open to actors of any gender. The roles of Viola, Olivia, Andrew, and Orsino are available to all actors, but will be portrayed as the original gender assigned to the role.

  • VIOLA (later disguised as CESARIO), works for Messaline Lobster Co. when her boat crashes off the coast, is taken into the Illyria Boardwalk family by Fabian 

  • FABIAN, a fisherman on the end of the Illyria Boardwalk, a fixture of the family who welcomes Viola to the family and is the only one who knows her secret (combines the roles of CAPTAIN and VALENTINE; doubles as PRIEST/OFFICER)

  • OLIVIA, wealthy daughter of the owner of the Illyria Boardwalk, with a rebellious streak; mourning the death of her brother

  • MARIA, mischievous member of the Illyria Boardwalk family, a close friend of Olivia’s

  • TOBY, a drunken (but beloved) longtime vendor at the Illyria Boardwalk, likes to stir up trouble for his entertainment

  • ANDREW, a member of the Illyria Boardwalk family and suitor of Olivia’s, insecure and trying to prove his worth by wooing above his station

  • ORSINO, manager of a boat tour company and presumptive winner of Olivia’s hand due to their matching social status; handsome (and potentially unlikeable but, somehow, not)

  • MALVOLIO, General Manager of the Boardwalk, the boss everyone loves to hate

  • FESTE THE FOOL, a regular busker at the edge of the Illyria Boardwalk, where Olivia can listen to their music day and night

  • SEBASTIAN, Viola’s identical twin brother and another victim of the Messaline Lobster Co. debacle; sincere but inconstant, lacking in perceptiveness 

  • ANTONIO, in love with Sebastian and the cutest

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Rehearsals will begin in mid-March and will take place on Monday and Thursday nights from 6:30-9:30 and Sundays (time TBD), in Newmarket, NH.
