Performances are Fridays/Saturdays at 7:30PM, Sundays at 2:30PM

Rehearsal Schedule (rehearsals to take place in Newmarket, NH and Somersworth, NH):
Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30-9:30 and Sunday from 6-9:30
No rehearsal the week of September 28-October 4
Beginning the week of October 13th, Wednesday nights will be added in from 6:30-9:30
Tech week: November 9-13

AUDITION INFORMATION FOR DIVE IN PRODUCTIONS’ REEFER MADNESS (THE MUSICAL)

- Virtual auditions will be accepted now through Thursday, September 4th at 9pm. Virtual auditions must be emailed to diveintheatre@gmail.com as Unlisted Youtube links. Late submissions will not be accepted.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
- One 30 second-1 minute song cut in the style of the show
- One 30 second to 1 minute song cut that shows off your comedy (zany, over the top, satirical, etc)

Once you have signed up for a slot, or submitted a video, we will then send you an audition form for you to fill out.

Callbacks will be held on Saturday 9/6 in Newmarket, NH. Callbacks will include readings from the script, song cuts from the show, and a dance call.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS (ALL ROLES OPEN):

JIMMY HARPER: Your standard, all-american high school boy who falls prey to the leafy claws of reefer, sending him spiraling into a life of crime.

LECTURER: An austere, fearmongering speaker who warns the audience (and the characters) about the dangers of Reefer Madness. (Doubles as Goat-Man, Mr. Poppy, Irish Priest, Old Man, Radio Announcer, Ticket-Taker, Policeman, FDR)

MARY LANE: Jimmy’s gal friday. A sweet, naive girl unaware of the dangers in her future.

JACK STONE: The charismatic but ruthless proprietor of the reefer den, carries himself like an oldtimey gangster. (Doubles as Jesus, George Washington)

MAE: The alluring, if not slightly past her prime hostess of the reefer den, involved with Jack. Wants to leave this life, but is hooked on “the stuff”

RALPH WILEY: A resident of the Reefer Den, Ralph used to be a fraternity brother, but he failed out of college due to his reefer habit. (Doubles as Sally's Baby, Switch-Puller, Uncle Sam)

SALLY: A sexy, seductive denizen of the reefer dane, with a cheeky, Mae West energy. (Doubles as Lady Liberty)

PLACARD GIRL: Throughout the play, she reinforces the warnings of the Lecturer by holding large signs that clearly state the moral of what we've just seen. (Doubles as Five-and-Dime Kid, Police Officer)

ENSEMBLE: Singing/dancing ensemble consisting of Reefer Zombies, Kids at the Five-and-Dime, Jungle Orgy dancers, Angels, and patriotic background chorus in the Star-Spangled Finale
