The Last Five Years is…
“An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman and aspiring actress, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man and rising author, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only ‘meet’ once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.”

Character arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling writing career, to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotage his own happiness.

Callbacks will be held from 10am-1pm on Sunday 12/13 (location TBD). Callbacks will include chemistry reads utilizing the songs "The Next Ten Minutes" and "Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You."
* Please note - Whoever is cast as Jamie will be expected to portray a male/masc-presenting character. Role is open to any gender, race/ethnicity, etc. No one under the age of 21 will be considered for this production. The role of Cathy has already been cast. We will be casting a COVER for the role of Jamie in addition to a principal cast member. Covers are guaranteed a performance.

What do The Odyssey, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Star Wars all have in common?
Great theatrical violence (among other things). The fight scenes are riveting, heart-pounding dramas that showcase the characters’ strengths, weaknesses, fears, and heart.
But what actually makes good theatrical violence *good*? This workshop will give participants hands-on experience with performing stage combat safely while in character, not just as an actor. Come learn the fundamentals of stage combat, like how to punch giants and kick supervillains, and how to safely and effectively carry character choices through to a fight designer’s choreography.
Cari Keebaugh is a SAFD-certified Actor Combatant and local Violence Designer who loves to help actors tell stories, from silly to serious and everything in between, through the art of choreographed violence. Swords and slaps, pratfalls and punches, she loves it all! Most recently, she created the stage combat for “Blood & Water” (Breaking Light Productions), “A King and No King” (Theatre@First), “Verona Falls” (Footlight Club), and “Macbeth” (Dream Role Players).
